Program fees subject to change due to major changes in exchange rate.
- Room and board with a host family.
- Comprehensive health insurance.
- Family recruitment and screening.
- Supervision by a local coordinator.
- Assistance in obtaining passport/visa (if necessary).
- Domestic and international airfare (except for 4-week China program).
- Passport, visa fees and any other expenses related to obtaining a visa.
- School books, uniforms or additional fees (if required).
- Educational/recreational overnight field trips.
- School lunch money (if necessary).
- Spending money.
- A non-refundable application fee of $250 is due at
the time that the application is submitted.
- A Program Fee Deposit of $750 for the School Year
Program, and $500 for the Semester/Summer Program is due
within 15 days of acceptance by ETC.
- The initial payment depends on selection of country.

- Total program payment is generally due thirty days
before departure from the USA.
- Program fee deposit is refundable if applicant is
not accepted by the partner organization.
- No refunds subsequent to official placement in host
family, and or school.
- No refunds subsequent to departure date.
Any students whose families who have hosted a foreign exchange student through ETC or its partner organization, Northwest International Student Exchange (NISE), are eligible for a discount.

Discounts do not apply to relatives who have hosted. The sending family must have themselves hosted in order to qualify for the discount.
Families who have not hosted but will later host for a summer or for an academic school year or semester program will be reimbursed the appropriate discount rate. For ETC semester and academic year programs, payment will occur after 1 month of hosting; for NISE upon completion of the hosting.

Referral Discount available for each new Host Family
Referral when that Host Family that qualifies and hosts for a NISE/ETC inbound program. Discount is
only applicable while the Outbound student is still in the
USA.There is no limit to the number of referrals a sending family can give;
however, the Referral discount can only be used in
conjunction with the above Previous Host Family Discount to
a total amount of $1,000 off the program fee.
If two or more families recommend the same family, only the first family will receive the discount.
