¡Hola! Perfect your Spanish while discovering the beauty and vibrancy of Spain. ETC offers programs throughout Spain, a country rich in history, culture and eclectic architecture. Spain boasts wonderful cities, mountains and beautiful coastlines. You will have many exciting excursions while attending school and living with a Spanish host family.
Perhaps no other family will welcome you as their own like a Spanish family! Warm and open, the Spanish realize the value of close family ties. You are almost guaranteed to get to know your extended family just as well as your immediate one, which will soon make you feel "right at home" in this fascinating country rich in art and culture.
In the "Bachilleratos," or track system, a student's classes vary according
their own interests and future academic studies. For example, a student who would like to study language would choose a different track than other who would like to become a doctor. The four different tracks are: Arts, Natural & Health Sciences, Humanities & Social Sciences, and Technology.
Once placed in a track, students are expected to perform in the classes at their grade level. Spanish class offerings are more rigid than in the United States. For example, students are not allowed to take 10th grade math if they are enrolled as a 12th grader.
The grading system ranges from 0 to 10 with 5 being the passing grade.
