Imagine walking on the Great Wall of China, visiting a panda bear or just ordering Chinese food in Chinese! All of this is possible with ETC's summer program to China. Spend an unforgettable month in the heart of the ancient empire that will not only take you to the wonders of this magnificent county, but also teach you the basics of one of the world's most fascinating languages and the intricacies of this rich culture. With ETC, China is your classroom.

Family Life
Students are hosted by volunteer host families who will provide students with room/board and the unequalled experience of living with a family. Through day-to-day interactions, students are able to take part in invaluable lessons in language, life and culture that can never be taught in the classroom.

All placements are made in Chengdu, the capital of the Sichuan province. Most families live in apartment-style homes within the city. Students will receive their own bed, but may share a room with a host sibling.

Schools
The month-long Summer Program offers an exciting mix of in-class lessons and out-of-class excursions to make your trip fun and educational. Students spend each morning with experienced Mandarin Chinese teachers learning through interactive lessons. Then, the afternoon is dedicated to applying what they have learned through short trips and cultural activities. Also, students get the opportunity to visit Chengdu's most notable landmarks once a week.
